After its 40th reunion during Prize Giving, December 2006, the Batch of 66-67 was inspired to make a Rs 3 Lakh donation towards the creation of the J. T. M. Gibson Award for Excellence, to be given to old boys who have, consistent with Jack Gibson's ideals, made a difference to society. Jack Gibson will have turned 100 in 2008 and this award will honor his memory and the impact he had on Mayo College students during his 15 year tenure as Principal from 1954 to 1969.
The award will be given each Prize Giving.
